Terrence Malick's 2005 telling of the Jamestown founding. In 1607 the Virginia Company's three ships cross the Atlantic to plant England's first lasting colony on the Chesapeake, where the soldier John Smith meets the Powhatan woman Pocahontas. Years on, married to John Rolfe and a mother, she makes the reverse voyage to England - received at court, dead at Gravesend before the voyage home.
